Barrow Farm Caravan Site is a family and dog friendly Caravan Club Certified Location (CL) in Rode village, near Frome on the Somerset / Wiltshire border. Bath, Warminster, Trowbridge and Bradford on Avon are close by. Longleat Safari Park, Farleigh Hungerford Castle and Iford Manor are local attractions. Stonehenge, Stourhead, Lacock Abbey & Village & the Fox Talbot Museum, Dyrham Park, Bowood House & Gardens, Corsham Court and Wells Cathedral are all within 45 minutes.

The site is located on our small farm, surrounded by pasture and nestled peacefully by the River Frome, well away from any busy roads. The local area is good for walkers and cyclists with the Macmillan Way and the Wiltshire Cycleway passing through Rode. Dogs are welcome if kept on a lead and there are plenty of good dog walks close by.

Wholesome Food Association approved farm shopBarrow Farm is a small Wholesome Food Association approved farm, selling home grown fruit and vegetables locally. We also have chickens and a small flock of sheep.

Soft Fruit P.Y.O

Strawberries, Raspberries, Gooseberries, Blackcurrants and Redcurrants are available for picking from early June to mid July - please call Mike or Sarah on 01373 830 841 to check what is available.

Honey

Local Bee Keeper Donald Mudie keeps his Bees at the far corner of the farm and the bees' delicious honey is occasionally found for sale in the shop.

Seasonal Vegetables

Home grown vegetables such as Potatoes, Sweetcorn, Beans, Squash, Courgettes, and Lettuce are available in season - again, please call us to check what's available.

Apples

Cookers and eaters are available from late August, while stocks last.

Fishing

Guests staying on the CL are welcome to fish if they have a rod license. There is no charge but we do ask for a donation to McMillan Cancer Relief.

The Wholesome Food Association

As certified members of the Wholesome Food Association we use no pesticides, herbicides or artificial fertilisers.

Shop Hours

The shop is open for self-service from 9:00am through to 6:00pm during the summer.

During the soft fruit P.Y.O. season (from 7th June until mid-July) the shop will be manned Tuesday to Sunday 1pm to 6pm.
